Bathroom Remodel Trends For 2015

bathroom remodel

Have you heard about the latest bathroom remodel trends? We imagine that, if you are considering a bathroom remodel, you have probably been paying close attention to Pinterest, home improvement shows, and the like. But, for those of you who are just starting to think about a bathroom remodel or are just interested in learning about what new things people are adding to their bathrooms, we’ve compiled a list of some of the latest trends for 2015.

  1. Large, walk-in showers. Whether or not these expanded showers are replacing tubs or are just adding another unique feature to an already ginormous bathroom, the latest in oversized showers include rain head faucets, hand-held sprayers, and floor-to-ceiling tile. Fiberglass is a thing of the past.
  2. Unique bathtubs. Those who cannot do without a luxurious soaking tub are looking to the past and the future for their inspiration. Think freestanding tubs in either claw foot or modern design.
  3. Custom cabinetry. People love storage in their bathrooms. And lots of it. Cabinets, drawers, and bins are all the rage. (Good thing you know someone in the custom cabinetry business!).
  4. Funky or flashy floor tiles. You don’t have to go to complete extremes, but floor tiles that pop are making their presence known in today’s bathroom remodel designs.
  5. Decorating with cool colors. Warm tones are out. Gray is the new neutral. Paired with white cabinets, you can have a splendid canvas with which to add almost any accent color. Or, you can keep it clean, simple, and elegant.  Shades of aqua are also very popular now as they can create a cool, calming feeling while you’re getting ready for your day or winding down at night.
  6. Recycled, reclaimed wood. Speaking of décor, we’re also seeing a lot of reclaimed wood accents used to create a focal point in the bathroom.  Ever thought of an old barn door as a closet entrance?  It’s actually a really unique idea that can bring some additional charm to your bathroom and/or dressing area.
